Life with Ali has been interesting, to say the least. We are all adjusting to our new lives fairly well; lots of frustration tempered with joy and love. She has strongly bonded with S... she loves me but not as much as him.
About a week ago, Ali made it blatantly obvious that she's (!) a girl by laying an egg. So far she's laid three of them and we hope that she'll stop soon. Not only are they unfertilized, laying eggs is hard on her due to the calcium depletion. I've been making her scrambled eggs (not her own!) and crushing up the shell into it.
She hasn't been using very many words; mainly sound effects and whistles. We know she has more words but we're not sure why she doesn't use them. We wish she would. Hopefully as more time passes she'll begin to speak up. :-)

The pet family enjoying the sun
All five of them enjoying the sunny deck on Friday afternoon. Ali is in his new backpack, which is on the bench above Freja. :-)

Ali and the other bird
Greys make this strange puppy sound when they are very happy/content. Apparently the mirror was a good thing. :-)

Yet another pet
Our new pet arrives tomorrow morning. I'm not going to spoil the surprise for those of you who follow my blog. Check in tomorrow for details (and to potentially comment on how insane we truly are). ;-)
