'Tis the season

It's been a busy past month at work as we gear up for the event in May.  I have to constantly remind myself to take deep breathes and to relax - need to keep the stress under control.  It's only necessary for my mental health but also for physical health; the CPPS has been flaring up because of everything that is going on.

And then there's Silly Season to contend with.  Mad, harried shopping expeditions are necessary over the next two days.  This weekend we are hosting our annual Xmas dinner, which I am looking forward to.  We head to Gabriola Island on Monday and back home on Boxing Day.

New Year's will find us in Vancouver.  As part of my Xmas present, Stephen has booked us a nice suite in a hotel in the west end.  The venue we are getting our party on at is only a few blocks away, which alleviates that early morning angst of trying to catch a cab.

That's it for now.  Remember when you are out and about, be considerate and pleasant to everyone you come in contact with.  This is the time of joy and the anticipation of the return of the light (solstice)!

Back to this

Well, it's time to light this blog up again. Yay for an Android app for Blogger that will make it a little easier.  Here's a pet snuggle picture to get things started. :-)

Finally!

Another brief 'un. I interviewed for a permanent position at the office I've temped for off and on over the past 7+ years. I found out this morning that I was the successful candidate (good call, folks.. you would have been hiring someone to replace me soon otherwise!). As of next week, I officially become a full-time, permanent employee. Yay!

There isn't much of a pay raise; I'll likely take home less (!) due to things that I will have to pay for (benefits, pension), but in the long run it will be better. I *will* get 4 weeks of paid vacation every year, though. :-)

Over 'n out for now...

Making Commitments

Short 'n sweet:

Last weekend S and I decided to get married have a commitment ceremony. Our ceremony will be next July/August. We're planning a rather intimate affair with only family and close friends attending. It's going to be one helluva party! :)

Our album is FINALLY available online!

I am happy to announce that you can now purchase "Things That Do Sound So Fair" online through CD Baby or if you prefer, through the iTunes store (album format is Itunes Plus - higher quality and no DRM).
